Windows VPS with RDP
Updated June 27, 2026
We run Server 2022, Server 2019, Server 2025 with RDP access and the licence included in the price. Windows needs at least 4 GB of RAM, so it starts on the Standard plan at $79/mo, and it runs on Vultr only. Billing is hourly and paid from a crypto balance.
A Windows VPS is the answer when the software you need only exists for Windows: a trading terminal, an accounting package, a scraping tool with a GUI, or anything you would normally run on a desktop and want online around the clock.
You connect over RDP with the Administrator password shown in your panel, and the Windows licence is part of the hourly price - there is nothing separate to buy.
What it costs and why it differs from Linux
Windows carries a licence cost that Linux does not, so it has its own price list: $79/mo for the Standard plan, $159/mo for the Pro and $269/mo for the Beast. That is the full price - licence included, billed by the hour like everything else.
The smaller plans are Linux-only. Windows Server needs real memory to be usable, so the smallest Windows machine we sell is the Standard (2 vCPU, 4 GB); offering it on a 1 GB plan would sell you something unusable.
RDP access
You get an Administrator password on demand from the server page and connect with any RDP client - the built-in Remote Desktop on Windows, Microsoft Remote Desktop on macOS, or Remmina and FreeRDP on Linux.
The server has a dedicated IPv4, so the address is yours alone. Change the Administrator password after the first login and restrict RDP to the addresses you actually connect from - port 3389 is scanned constantly by everyone.
Windows availability and licensing
We carry Server 2022, Server 2019, Server 2025. Windows runs on Vultr only - it is the provider in our mix that sells Windows licences for cloud instances, so a Windows deploy always lands there regardless of which locations you see for Linux.
The licence is bundled into the hourly rate: $79/mo, $159/mo and $269/mo per month for the three eligible plans. Destroy the server and the charge stops the same hour, licence included - there is no term to buy out.
Plans & hourly pricing
The Standard (2 vCPU, 4 GB) at $79/mo is the entry point for Windows and enough for a single application plus the desktop. Move to the Pro if you run several programs at once or anything that touches large files.
| Plan | vCPU | RAM | NVMe | $/mo | $/hr |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Micro | 1 | 1 GB | 25 GB | $10 | $0.014 |
| Starter | 1 | 2 GB | 55 GB | $18 | $0.025 |
| StandardRECOMMENDED | 2 | 4 GB | 80 GB | $34 | $0.047 |
| Pro | 4 | 8 GB | 160 GB | $62 | $0.085 |
| Beast | 6 | 16 GB | 320 GB | $120 | $0.164 |
All plans include NVMe SSD storage, a dedicated IPv4 and full root on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS by default. Billing is hourly - you pay only while a server exists.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Windows licence included?
Yes. The price you see includes the licence, billed hourly along with the server. There is nothing separate to purchase or activate.
Why can I not deploy Windows on the smallest plans?
Windows Server needs at least 4 GB of RAM to be usable, so it is available from the Standard plan upward. Selling it on a 1 GB machine would give you something that technically boots and practically does not work.
How do I connect?
Over RDP, with the Administrator password you request from the server page. Any standard RDP client works - Windows Remote Desktop, Microsoft Remote Desktop on macOS, Remmina or FreeRDP on Linux.
Which locations can I deploy Windows in?
The Vultr locations, since Windows runs on Vultr in our mix. The create page shows exactly which cities are available once you choose Windows.
Can I pay for a Windows VPS with crypto?
Yes - the same balance covers Windows and Linux servers. Top up with Bitcoin, USDT or any of 300+ coins and deploy from the balance.
