Why developers pay for servers in ETH

If your income is on-chain, paying for infrastructure on-chain skips the exchange-to-bank round trip entirely. No conversion to fiat, no card declines, no waiting for bank transfers to clear.

Mainnet gas is the thing to watch

Ether works and we take it, but the fee decides whether it is a good idea for hosting specifically. Infrastructure top-ups are small - twenty or fifty dollars - and a mainnet transfer at a busy moment takes a visible bite out of that. On a large transfer the same fee is noise; on a $20 balance it is not.

If your funds already sit on Ethereum and moving them elsewhere would cost more than sending them, mainnet is the right call and the payment page handles it normally. If you have a choice, a stablecoin on an L2 is cheaper by orders of magnitude and arrives faster.

The layer-2 route

We accept USDT and USDC on Arbitrum, Base, Polygon and Solana alongside the Ethereum versions. Fees there are cents or fractions of a cent, confirmation is quick, and the balance credits the same way.

Pick the network on the payment page first, then withdraw on that exact network. Sending an ERC-20 transfer to an address generated for another chain puts the funds somewhere nobody is watching for them, and recovery ranges from difficult to impossible.

What the balance does once it lands

Credited balance is denominated in dollars, so a price move after your top-up does not change what a server costs. Servers bill by the hour against it, and destroying one stops the charge the same hour.

Top-ups are final: the balance is prepayment for hosting here, it does not expire, and it is not refundable or payable back out. Fund what you plan to spend rather than months ahead - hourly billing makes that easy.

How an Ethereum top-up settles

Ethereum blocks arrive about every 12 seconds, so an ETH deposit usually reaches final confirmation within a couple of minutes - quicker than most card flows.

Gas is paid in ETH and varies with network load; you set it in your wallet. Prefer a dollar-pegged token? ERC-20 stablecoins like USDT and USDC settle the same way and map to your USD balance one-to-one.
