What paying in crypto actually changes

The payment is the visible part, and it is the smaller half. A card is an identity: it is issued to a name, verified by a bank, and it ties the account to a person before a single server exists. Removing the card removes that link, which is why an email address is all we ask for.

The part people underestimate is the billing model that comes with it. A prepaid balance cannot overdraw, so there is no invoice arriving after the fact and no recurring charge to cancel. You fund what you intend to spend and the meter runs against it by the hour.

What it does not change: the server is a real instance in a real datacentre, subject to the law where it sits, and we respond to abuse complaints like any provider. Our process for that is published with actual deadlines rather than a line reserving the right to do anything.

Which coin to use

Stablecoins are the practical default for infrastructure. Hourly billing plus a volatile coin means the balance you funded at $20 is not $20 next week; USDT or USDC keeps the number still. We take both across several chains, and the cheap ones cost cents to send.

Bitcoin works and is the most universally held, at the cost of a fee that is meaningful on a small top-up.

Whichever you pick, the balance is denominated in dollars once credited. The coin decides how the money arrives, not what the servers cost.
